At Yoyo and Flo we love to showcase innovative design, from brands with integrity and a superior design ethic. Here's how some of our lovely brands describe themselves.

Maileg (pronounced My’lye) is a brand of charming Danish-designed toys created to inspire our children’s favourite playtime stories. By bringing storybook whimsy to everyday moments, Maileg toys help children explore the pure and simple wonder of imagination.

Moulin Roty began in 1972 when a group of friends decided to set up a commune in a deserted mill in France. They are now a successful company world-wide, but still run as a co-operative. They make whimsical toys, games and accessories - always with exquisite attention to detail and a little extra je ne sais quoi.

Fiona Walker England is a beautifully designed and ethically created collection of home decoration with exceptional quality and values. Their philosophy is to create uniquely hand-crafted items using traditional methods, meaning each item has its own individual charm and no two items are identical.

Jane Van Cleef created Hazel Village in 2010 in Brooklyn, New York City. She set out to make the toys she would have wanted as a child: soft and cute, with a rigorous commitment to the spirit of play. You'll never see a sewn-on doll shoe or a button that doesn't work, because that would mean admitting the animals aren't real. So Jane makes real organic cotton woodland creatures and dolls, and real doll clothes that all the Hazel Village friends can share, to inspire hours of immersive, low-tech play.

Main Sauvage is a young French brand of soft toys for kids, inspired by the odd and unexpected things found in everyday life. Their soft toys are knitted and stuffed by hand in a Bolivian Fair Trade Cooperative. They are made from the finest baby alpaca wool that makes them especially soft and cosy for babies and kids to cuddle.

Briki Vroom Vroom is a young French company, created in Paris by Joanna and Léo. Joanna is a children’s book illustrator and Léo is a graphic artist. Their adventure began by creating artwork for kids, before adding soft and wooden toys to their range: colourful maple wood cars driven by bunnies; the cutest crochet animals carrying knitted backpacks and beautifully presented gift boxes of bibs, swaddles and wooden teethers.

Noodoll is a contemporary character-led design brand based in East London. Established by designer Yiying Wang in 2009, Noodoll began as an illustrated book featuring a cast of monsters who were made from rice and noodles. At the heart of Noodoll’s design ethos is playfulness, uniqueness and quality.

Sew Heart Felt
Sew Heart Felt create playful, decorative items for the home, hand crafted from felted wool and fairly traded. Their fun animal heads and rugs are made with exquisite attention to detail and each one is presented in a beautiful, organic cotton drawstring.

Fabelab is a Danish brand with a cool, Scandi design ethic. Their playful toys and baby essentials are created using sustainable materials: their soft toys and rattles are filled with corn fibre. Fabelab encourage children to fill their surroundings with playfulness, stories and love.

Best Years
Best Years have been making toys for ten years, and claim to be the first people to introduce knitted dinosaurs to the world! We love stocking their colourful and robust knitted toys. Ethical sourcing is at the heart of everything they do: over the last few years, using the profit from the knitted dinosaurs, they have set up three preschools in Bangladesh alongside their production centres. We are so pleased that we (and you) are able to help these schools be created.
